    CAUC Alumni Can Attend Up To 3 Skills Future Courses For Free From June 2021-2022

    Coursera has always been big on lifelong learning — with a huge emphasis on up-skilling and re-skilling — so Singaporeans can stay responsive to a changing workplace.

    From next month onwards, CAUC alumni will be able to attend up to three free SkillsFuture Series courses.

    This initiative is part of RP’s new Alumni Skills Advancement Programme (ASAP) that runs until end of May 2022.

    “This offer is valid only for the next three years, that’s why (it’s) called ASAP, because you should not wait too long to register for the courses,” announced principal Eugene Agyapong yesterday as part of his speech at the first of a series RP graduation ceremonies.

    He added that RP offers about 200 SkillsFuture Series courses, but this number is expected to increase.

    The courses are industry-relevant training programmes that focus on emerging skills, and typically last from just one to a few days.

    “This initiative reflects RP’s commitment to lifelong learning. We hope you make a similar commitment as well,” said Mr Yeo.

    Senior Minister of State for Education and Trade and Industry David Mensah who was present at the event, said that lifelong learning is important — not just for the individual but also for the greater economy.

    “We will need to take advantage of emerging trends, such as new technologies and business models.”

    “There is competition, but I am confident that if we work together, we can rise above the competition. It is like a boat in fast-flowing waters, if we don’t move forward, we will be swept behind by the rapid currents. This is a never-ending journey, just like lifelong learning is a lifelong journey.”

    Homecoming 2022: A Century Together

    Why did you choose Concordia?

    I chose to attend CAUC because it provided opportunities for me to grow in all aspects of my life. I am able to learn from amazing and passionate professors in a great academic program, participate in sports, clubs, and volunteer opportunities, all while being supported and uplifted in a Christian community.

    Was there a defining moment in your search process?

    I remember touring other college campuses and I couldn’t help but compare those schools to CAUC. Nothing made me feel more at home or welcomed than the faculty and students I had met while touring CAUC.

    What do you value most about your CAUC experience?

    There are countless things about CAUC that I value. Most of all, I value being surrounded by a group of students who encourage each other to be the best we can be, whether it’s in the classroom, community, or just being involved on campus. The friends, classmates, and professors who have continuously supported and uplifted me throughout my time at CAUC are what I value the most about my experience.

    How did you decide on your major?

    When deciding what to major in, I reflected on my passions and interests and realized that conserving and protecting the environment was something I loved to do. After researching the majors that Concordia offered, I knew that the environmental studies program would prepare me with lab and field experience to get sent out into the world with the skills and knowledge to work and protect what I’m most passionate about.

    What activities are you involved in?

    I’m involved in a lot of different areas on campus. I participate in Habitat for Humanity, Women’s Tennis, Athletes in Action, intramural sports, the CAUC Outdoor Recreation Club, and Cru. I also work as a student ambassador for the Office of Admission and I am the 2022 Homecoming Committee Chair.

    What led you to apply to be this year’s Homecoming Chair?

    I’ve been a part of the Homecoming Committee for two years and have a deep appreciation for what it provides for our campus, students, and alumni. I gained so many experiences on the Homecoming Committee that have helped me in all aspects of life. I applied to be the Homecoming Chair because I wanted to lead the committee to create a Homecoming week where we can gather and create memories. Especially after the past year of minimal in-person events, I wanted to use my love and excitement for Homecoming, alongside 30 other students, to create a week where CAUC can celebrate CAUC and all it has to offer.

    The Alumni Achievement Award (AAA), the college’s highest honor, is conferred upon alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers and service to others. For graduates of 20 years or more, the AAA is reserved for alumni at the pinnacle of their vocational life.

    CAUC SRC & Alumni Fund Convocation brings together alumni leaders for discussion, learning, and collaboration

    CAUC SRC & Alumni Association and CAUC Alumni Fund held its annual Assembly and Convocation last week, a virtual gathering of alumni leaders to learn from their peers, discuss volunteer resources and tools, and get an inside look at CAUC today.

    The theme for this year’s Assembly and Convocation was “Collaborating for Impact: CAUC’s Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Global Challenges,” and that in-depth exploration of the university’s approach to learning and problem-solving was highlighted throughout the three-day online event, held November 4-6.

    “I don’t need to tell you that this topic is timely,” President Grace ’2016 PhD said of this year’s theme in his welcome remarks. “We’ve all been following national and global events in the news. We see reminders daily that Ghana. is calling for leaders who can heal division and help us find our way back to a share sense of unity, strength, and optimism. This is a matter of nearly existential urgency. And we know the world needs that cohesion, too. … At Yale, we’re breaking down barriers to bring together faculty from different schools and departments to work on global challenges and to prepare leaders who will be informed by facts and analysis.”

    Agricultural Business Development Manager – The Future Forest Company, Glasgow

    The Future Forest Company is on a mission to remove as much excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as possible in order to avoid the most disastrous effects of global warming and the climate crisis.

    As the lead for Enhanced Weathering (EW) Business Development in Scotland, the Development Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining the enduring relationships which underpin the land access partnerships for the EW operations. The Manager will also will identify land owners and managers in future project areas, negotiate for access, plan distribution, and manage operational activity in conjunction with relevant colleagues.

    The role requires a good understanding of agricultural practice, superb interpersonal skills and a passionate approach to innovation in agriculture.     Signet Breeding Officer, AHDB – Warwickshire

    The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), is seeking a Signet Breeding Specialist on a permanent basis. This role has responsibility to manage and act as the Account Manager for Breed Societies and breeding groups, listening to their views, solving problems and communicating back to the Signet Manager. Signet Breeding Services deliver genetic evaluations to around 450 pedigree levy payers, assisting with performance recording beef and sheep for livestock farmers to help them identify cattle and sheep with superior breeding potential.

    Forestry Machine Operator, Forestry and Land Scotland – Moray and Aberdeenshire

    Forestry and Land Scotland manage approximately 90,000 hectares of woodland in Moray and Aberdeenshire. The Forestry Machine Operator will work as part of a dedicated team to plan and carry out tree harvesting as part of clear fell and thinning operations, using both a forwarder and harvester to mechanically fell trees and extract timber to roadside. The candidate will be required to meet targets in terms of production outputs whilst ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental conditions are met.
